And here's the second and third pages:
I plan on filling in the journaling cards once I figure out what the kids are into right now. That takes some serious concentration. Maybe this year I'll post my pl spreads on a weekly basis. Maybe. :)
I'm a little behind in posting these as i'm currently working on week SIX.
here's the first page:
my oldest had a swim meet and i just added a few inserts to this week's spread; one is of the heat sheet and the other is the newspaper article about the meet.
and the second page:
charlie got a new gun that week. fake gun but it makes noises.
and a close up of my cute dog:
going to try to post the last couple of weeks soon.
the kids were supposed to return to school on monday but due to the frigid temperatures, they didn't.
they didn't go to school on tuesday either.
let's just say that it's a good thing they went back to school today.
i feel badly for my friends who live in an area where school has still been cancelled. i do because as much as i know how much they love their kids, i get the need to get back to some type of routine. and routine is always good.
so here is last week's PL:
and the second page:
over the break, i was even able to snap a few individual (and group) shots of the kids.
i don't know why charlie isn't wearing a shirt. that was the least of my concern. the bigger concern was what he wore for his bottoms. he ONLY wore pajama bottoms for the ENTIRE break-that's 18 days of nothing but flannel on his little bottom.
i guess he was fine this morning because i didn't hear any wails of despair with having to actually put on real pants to go to school.
stay warm, folks!
i'm gearing up for another year of PL. this will be my third year of doing this system of scrapping (created by Becky Higgins-beckyhiggins.com) and i'm looking forward to it. this year i really want to focus on getting better photos, ones that try to capture the moments. and i'm going to try to keep it as simple as possible. simple is always good.
here is my title page:
i didn't have any recent pix of the family so i used the ones from our family vacation. again, keeping it simple...
i did a little photoshopping on the PL logo :)
hope becky doesn't mind.
and here is the second page:
i added a 6x12 insert between the spread. i found the template on pinterest and used the overlay over a couple of photos i took of the kids last year.
and here's the back using some photos from 2013:
and the unfinished last page:
i wrote what the kids are up to right now:
thanks for looking and if you're also doing project life...YAY!!!
i'm a little late on posting these and the reason is...i did an extra insert for last week and the extra scanning involved was too much for me to handle at the beginning of the week.
but so true.
here's the first page:
and the insert:
and the back of the insert:
and the last page:
i took all of the photos with my iphone but the ones for the insert, i did pull out the big boy camera. here's a better look at those:
hope you're having a great thursday, y'all!
i haven't done a real layout in months.
and here's week 8 of project life...or at least parts of it.
i don't know what week this is but i'm surprised that i'm keeping up with the weekly layouts.
i used cz's free template and listed everything we had to do for each day.
i think my friend laurie and my sister are going to start their project life very, very soon. we're just trying to figure out a day where both can come over for a few hours and put their albums together.
have a great day!
you could say i'm a little obsessed with the weather. i always need to know what the temperature is going to be...like knowing that's going to make me smarter? make me sleep better? i don't know. but since i check it on a daily basis, i thought i would include it in my PL book. and i plan on printing out the week's temp each week.
cuz i'm obsessed, i tell ya.
this week seems like it was all about charlie...
well, it was about the weather too.
well, i got my spread done for last week:
and here's page two:
i'm already starting on this week's pictures and stories. so far, it's been going well because the kids have so much going on right now. i wonder if it's going to be as easy to do once summer break gets here. those weeks may just be filled with pictures of us by the pool.
wouldn't that be nice...
well, here are some of the things i've been using or recommend for some of you who are thinking about starting this project:
you will need a corner punch and photos. definitely. and a trash can. but other than that, everything else is helpful to have but not a must. if you have scrapbook papers, you can use those but having becky higgins' project life core kit makes things SO much easier. the other things pictured are my phone, adhesive, 6x6 patterned papers, chipboard hearts from american crafts, stickers by basicgrey, and alpha stamps by hero arts. some of the digital kits i used are listed below:
happy scrapping, y'all!
well, i started on my project life this past week. it's been a struggle, i must say, trying to catch up on the past three weeks. and find photos. and find stories to go with the photos. and make it look all purdy too.
but i finished the title pages:
i tell ya, having an iphone really does help. that's right, i said iphone...the thing that i didn't think i'd ever own in my previous post. well, my husband surprised me with one at christmas. he's usually the one that handles all the technology in our household and is an anti-apple user. and still is. he makes fun of my phone all the time. but i don't care because now i snap photos whenever i want.
and actually will DO project life.
more photos to come...
